Your Mobile Phone Is A More Secure Remote Control
Feel safer and more secure when your door/gate/garage can only be opened by an authorized person’s mobile phone.
With other remote controls or key cards, whoever has the remote can enter the premises
Whoever has the remote control or key card can enter the premises
Remote controls do not check who is actually using them or whether the person is approved for entry. Anyone who picks up the remote control or key card can use it. Plus most remote controls are very easy to duplicate and can be used by a thief to gain access to your premises anytime they want.
So that means that anyone can borrow or steal remote control or key card and gain entry into your premises. In particular, there are security problems with remote controls being left in vehicles as the thief can steal it and enter your premises whenever they want to. This is not a good way to secure your premises.
Another security weakness with many remote controls is that thieves could park near your premises with scanning devices that can capture and retransmit the signal when a remote control is used. The thief can then have a scanned a copy of your remote control and enter your premises anytime they wish.
With BGates there are more checks before anyone can gain entry to your premises.
- Firstly, BGates checks that the number dialed is the correct number. The mobile phone has to dial a specific number before for the person can gain entry.
- Secondly, BGates checks the ID of the mobile phone that is calling is approved for entry. If it is not the correct ID, it will not allow entry, even though the correct number for the BGates device has been dialed.
- Thirdly, unlike other remote control devices, the BGates system cannot be copied and duplicated. So your access is secure from thiefs wanting to make copies.
- Fourthly, your mobile phone can have password protection to stop anyone using it illegally. You can password protect a mobile phone so that only the user can use it.
- Fifthly, your phone can use a special speed dialing number for BGates that is only known to the user, or a special pre-programed number that is labeled with a persons name that only the user knows and that would not link it to the BGates system.
Security Tips
- If you are using a remote control or key card, do not leave it in your car as they could be copied or stolen from parked cars or by attendants in car parking stations and when your car is booked in for service.
- For the same reasons as above, do not put a remote control or key card on your key ring as they can be copied or stolen when you leave your keys in your car at parking stations or when you book your car in for a service.
- Because you normally take your phone with you and you do not lend it to other people, (and it is not attached to your key ring), security is much higher by using your mobile phone. Plus your can store your access number as a speed dialing number or a persons name on your phones contact list so as other people would not recognise it on your phone.
- Because you can open your door/gate/garage as you are approaching, you do not have to wait for the door to open. This is particularly valuable when it is night time or when the access is on a dangerous or busy street.
